Lal Tibba (Depot Hill)

The highest point in Mussoorie, at roughly 7,500 feet, with a viewing terrace above the military station. On a clear morning the telescope at the edge of the cliff brings the Greater Himalaya close — Trishul, Kedarnath, Nilkantha, Swargarohini, Chaukhamba and, on the finest days, Banderpoonch. Small entry and telescope charges apply, and the last stretch is a steep lane, so go early or take a local driver.

Bhatta Falls

The quieter, less developed cousin of Kempty, about 10 km from the Mall Road on the Yamunotri side. A natural stream comes down the rocks through pine forest, with far fewer stalls, fewer people and a short walk to reach the water. Locals tend to send guests here when the main falls are too crowded; both can comfortably be done in a single morning.

Company Garden

A terraced garden of about five acres at Library Chowk, laid out in 1835 around a natural spring, with fountains, flower beds and an open amphitheatre that hosts the town’s events. In season it stays open into the evening with a light and sound show, and it is the most convenient place in Mussoorie to simply sit for a while with a book. The Library Bus Stand is right outside, which makes it an easy end point for any local route.
